Rod Palmer is the head of Walkers’ Global Investment Funds Group and has extensive experience advising in investment funds of all types, including private equity funds and hedge funds. Rod also advises on general corporate matters including IPOs, the sale and purchase of shares and assets, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations including statutory mergers, schemes of arrangement and takeovers.

Prior Employment Experience

Rod trained in the corporate team of top tier Australian firm, Clayton Utz, specialising in public and private capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions and collective investment vehicles. He then joined Bankers Trust in 1998 as head of the Australian retail legal team where he advised extensively on investment funds, IPOs and general corporate law. In 2001, Rod joined the Corporate and International Finance Department of Walkers' Cayman Islands office, where he worked on a broad range of corporate and commercial law matters before relocating to Walkers' Dubai office as Managing Partner in 2005. Rod then returned to the Cayman Islands office in 2010 before moving to Walkers’ Hong Kong office in 2011.
