Our Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution group operates from our offices in the Cayman Islands, BVI and Jersey.
We have extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on commercial and corporate disputes, professional negligence, contentious banking and financial issues, asset tracing, enforcement proceedings and conflict of laws. Our attorneys have full rights of audience in all of the Cayman, BVI and Jersey courts and have made numerous appearances in the Court of Appeal of each jurisdiction and in the Privy Council in London.
The Cayman department works closely with many of the leading international law firms and accounting firms with whom we have close links. We are also experienced in multi-jurisdictional litigation in which we participate on a regular basis and which we are often involved in co-ordinating. We can also provide expertise in arbitration, both international and local and, if required, a qualified arbitrator as well as a trained mediator.
In Jersey, Walkers is the only law firm with a dedicated personal injury team. We have two members of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers who handle the majority of Plaintiff claims. We also accept Defendant instructions. In 2001 we launched JustClaim.je, the first Jersey website dedicated to assisting personal injury claimants.
