Who’s Who Legal
By Tom Barnes
Who’s Who Legal has once again picked out Walkers as the leading firm in Cayman Islands in its annual awards.
The firm was named Cayman Islands Law Firm of the Year 2011, the third occasion that it has gained this recognition.
Partners from the firm received sufficient nominations from their clients and peers to be listed 13 times across four practice areas in the publication. Lawyers from Walkers were listed more times than those from any other firm in the country.
Editor in chief Callum Campbell said, “By winning this award, Walkers demonstrates the exceptional breadth, depth and calibre of its expertise. We are delighted to recognise the firm once again as the leader in Cayman Islands.”
The awards are based on a number of factors, including general feedback received in the ongoing research process, past performance in the research and the overall aggregate number of weighted votes cast in their favour.
The winners are formally announced in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers 2011, a compendium edition of all the individual Who’s Who Legal publications, which is released in June and covers 31 practice areas and over 100 countries. The compendium edition is distributed free of charge to thousands of corporate counsel and private practice lawyers from around the world.
Who’s Who Legal is official research partner of the International Bar Association and strategic research partner of the ABA Section of International Law.
Walkers lawyers based in Cayman Islands featuring in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers 2011 include: Grant Stein, Diarmad Murray, Mark Lewis, Jonathan Tonge, Rod Palmer, Ingrid Pierce, Guy Locke, Colette Wilkins, Caroline Williams, Rolf Lindsay, Gwyneth Rees and Heidi de Vries.
