The programme which has been delivered to 250 students to date, will run in Guernsey for the fifth time and Jersey for the fourth time.
Students will be offered the chance to gain a real insight into the world of work whether in financial services, other important local industries or as an entrepreneur. They will experience a mock board meeting, sessions with accountants, fiduciaries and bankers, a mock trial before a real judge, an overview of local law and a 'meet the entrepreneurs' session.
Members of our own team, especially our younger lawyers, will be available throughout to share their own experiences in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Students based in London, where we deliver time zone sensitive Cayman, BVI and Bermuda law support to clients in the EMEA region, have also been invited to join for the first time this year.
Fraser Hern, head of Walkers' Channel Islands business, said: "We are thrilled to be able to continue and expand this initiative, offering support to talented and entrepreneurial individuals during their studies.
Many participants in this and our other schemes have progressed their careers with us, while others have pursued different paths. Regardless of the path chosen, we have strengthened our relationship within the communities we work in and are committed to supporting."
Head of Walkers' Guernsey Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team, Alison Ozanne, who runs the programme, added: "There are some amazing career opportunities for young people, but they need to be given the chance to understand and discuss the options. That is what we aim to achieve with the Walkers Business Summer School."
