Wei Ching specialises in advising private equity and hedge fund managers on a broad spectrum of legal issues including fund formation and structuring, acquisitions and disposals, fund regulatory and governance matters, restructuring, and winding up of and end-of-life solutions for funds.
In addition, Wei Ching is also a specialist in and advises clients on the launch of BVI funds and approved manager structures. Wei Ching also has an active corporate practice which includes providing general advice on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. She has also acted for investors on fund investment transactions. Wei Ching advises clients from across the region including in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Australia. Wei Ching is a regular speaker at Greater China industry events.
Wei Ching is a member of Walkers' Corporate & Investment Funds group. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Experience and recent work
Prior to joining Walkers, Wei Ching worked at another leading offshore firm in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. Prior to that, she specialised in commercial and private wealth management work with a reputable full-service law firm in Singapore. She advised high net worth individuals on various succession planning and inheritance related matters, as well as worked with corporate trustees on various trust and corporate structures. She had also advised and represented various ministries of the Government of Singapore to restructure their charitable trust catered to the public healthcare sector, and in contentious tax claims in the Courts of Singapore.
