Charlotte joined the firm in 2020 when she was accepted onto the Walkers Jersey bursary programme which is designed to support young Islanders through their university studies, and at the same time give them experience of working in an international law firm. As part of the programme, Charlotte received financial support towards her studies, paid summer work placements, career mentorship, and direct support from the firm's Human Resources team.
At the end of her studies, Charlotte joined Walkers full-time as a paralegal to qualify as a Solicitor of England & Wales via the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route.
Fraser Hern, the Head of Walkers' Channel Islands business, said: "We are delighted that we were able to support Charlotte to develop her career and become a qualified lawyer through two of our student and graduate training schemes."
"We are proud to be continuing these schemes again this year to support talented, entrepreneurial and collaborative people with their studies, whether legal or non-legal."
Sarah Forbes, Walkers' HR Director for the Channel Islands and London, said: "Applications for our 2024 Jersey and Guernsey bursary programmes are now open with applications closing on 31 January 2024."
