We are proud to act as Cayman Islands counsel to Jito Foundation, a foundation company incorporated in the Cayman Islands (the "Foundation") to support the growth and development of the Solana based protocol that provides liquid staking services (the "Protocol") and the Jito Decentralized Autonomous Organization (the "DAO" or "Community").
We acted as Cayman counsel for the Foundation on the launch of its governance token JTO ("JTO") which is intended to facilitate decentralized coordination for the continued advancement of the Protocol and formalise governance with the aim of bolstering Community participation whereby holders of JTO can actively participate in decision-making processes and initiatives to shape the future of the Protocol, such as managing the DAO treasury and administering a grant program thereby contributing to ongoing developments and improvements.
Our team was led by Melissa Lim, Ian Mason, Carolyn Kelly, Dwight Williams and Christine Dolbeare. Walkers acted alongside US counsel Fenwick & West LLP, Leeward Management and FFP (Directors) Limited providing directorship services to the Foundation, FFP (Corporate Services) Limited as registered office provider and Webslinger Advisors SEZC Inc., as Web3 advisory and launch partner of the Foundation.
