He is praised by clients as “an asset for any heavy commercial dispute” and “one of the very wisest and coolest heads” with a "keen strategic sense" and a "depth of expertise".
In his new role, Murray will continue his key leadership role in the firm's Global Insolvency & Dispute Resolution (IDR) Group, providing expert offshore legal advice to our Middle East client base. The IDR team in Dubai recently retained its Band 1 ranking in the Chambers Global Guide 2024.
Daniel Wood, managing partner for Walkers in Dubai, adds: "We’re thrilled to welcome Murray to our Dubai office. We already offer the leading and longest standing insolvency, restructuring and dispute resolution practice in the region advising on offshore jurisdictions. Murray's addition alongside fellow partner Luke Petith, senior counsel Cate Barbour and our highly regarded team will significantly boost our capacity to support our clients."
Murray Laing adds: “I'm very happy to be joining this exceptionally strong team in Dubai and look forward to contributing to Walkers' continued success in the region.”
