Advising Equitix on £500m battery storage deal

We have advised infrastructure investor Equitix, leading a consortium on its investment of £500m into Eelpower Energy, a UK battery storage platform. 
 
Eelpower Energy will build and operate grid-scale battery storage assets with an aim to deliver over 1GW of new battery storage capacity for the UK grid over the coming years.
 
The deal, which is a significant investment into the UK's battery storage capacity, has enabled Eelpower Energy to identify a number of seed assets that will immediately enter construction, together with a pipeline of high-quality, actionable project opportunities to facilitate growth of the platform over time.
 
Our team advised on both the Corporate and Finance elements of the deal.
