We have advised Kennedy Lewis, a US based multi strategy private credit manager with more than US$32bn in assets under management, on its new strategic partnership with Bank of Ireland to support European mid market buyouts.
Under the partnership, Kennedy Lewis and Bank of Ireland will initially deploy more than €2bn in unrated senior secured loans to mid market leveraged buyouts across Europe. The initiative brings together Bank of Ireland’s established European leveraged finance platform, operating from Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Madrid and Paris, with Kennedy Lewis’s flexible capital base and extensive US direct lending expertise.
The partnership is designed to deliver tailored financing solutions to mid market private equity sponsors across bilateral, club and syndicated loan structures, enhancing access to capital across key European markets.
Our multi-disciplinary team included partners Aongus McCarthy (Investment Funds), Nicholas Blake-Knox (Investment Funds), Paddy Rath (Finance & Capital Markets), and Padhraic Mulpeter (Tax) with support from Clare Mannion (Finance & Capital Markets), Kate Kenneally (Investment Funds), Aengus Gormley (Investment Funds), Niall Esler (Regulatory & Risk Advisory) and Shane Martin (Regulatory & Risk Advisory). We worked alongside Akin on the transaction.
Commenting on the transaction, the team said, 'This strategic partnership reflects the continued evolution of the European private credit market and the growing demand for flexible and scalable financing solutions. We were pleased to support Kennedy Lewis on a transaction that brings together deep sector expertise and strong institutional platforms to provide enhanced access to capital for mid market sponsors across Europe.'
