We are pleased to announce that Sherry Yu has qualified as an associate in the firm’s Asset Finance team in Ireland and has been admitted as a solicitor to the Law Society of Ireland, marking a significant milestone in her career after joining the team as a paralegal.
Sherry has been an integral part of the Asset Finance team, supporting a broad range of transactions across the financing and leasing of aircraft and other assets. Her experience spans a wide spectrum of aviation finance structures, including ABS transactions, PDP financings, warehouse facilities and sale and leaseback arrangements.
Commenting on Sherry’s qualification, Asset Finance partner Matt Hedigan said:
'Sherry has been an exceptional member of the Asset Finance team, and we are delighted to see her qualify as an associate in Ireland having previously practised as a corporate lawyer in China. Her technical ability, work ethic and commitment to delivering high quality support on complex transactions have made her a trusted colleague across the practice. We are very proud of her achievement and look forward to seeing her continue to excel in her new role.'
Before joining Walkers, Sherry spent four years working as corporate lawyer with a leading Chinese law firm in Beijing and Shanghai, where she practised in corporate governance and capital markets. Her international experience and technical capability have made her a valued member of the team, contributing to complex transactions and supporting the continued growth of Walkers’ aviation finance practice.
Sherry’s qualification reflects both her dedication and the firm’s commitment to supporting the development of our people as they progress through their legal careers.
