We have authored the Ireland chapter of the Chambers and Partners FinTech 2026 guide, which provides an overview of the legal and regulatory framework shaping Ireland’s fintech sector.
In the chapter, we explore recent and emerging developments across the fintech landscape, including regulatory priorities, market trends and areas of innovation such as digital assets, payments, AI and tokenisation. We also consider how Ireland’s regulatory environment continues to evolve in response to both domestic developments and wider EU initiatives.
Commenting on the publication, Niall Esler said:
'Ireland continues to play an important role as a European hub for fintech activity. The guide reflects both the pace of innovation in the sector and the increasing regulatory focus on areas such as digital assets, payments and emerging technologies.'
The Chambers Global Practice Guides are widely used by in‑house counsel, financial institutions and fintech businesses as a practical reference on legal and regulatory issues across key jurisdictions.
The Ireland chapter was contributed by Niall Esler, Shane Martin and Coleen Wegmann.
