Experience and recent work

Daisy was called to the English Bar in 2010 and practised as a Commercial Chancery Barrister at 3 Stone Buildings in London from 2012 to March 2019. She developed a broad commercial chancery practice at the Bar and, in particular, gained experience in the fields of contentious trusts and probate, insolvency, commercial and business disputes and civil fraud. She has experience dealing with various urgent applications for interim relief, including applications for worldwide freezing orders. In addition to appearing in the County Court and the High Court as a sole advocate, Daisy was often instructed as part of a team in large scale and high value matters.

Insolvency Litigation: Her insolvency cases at the London Bar involved all aspects of bankruptcy, liquidation, administration and voluntary arrangements; applications in insolvency proceedings (e.g. rescission, annulment, setting aside statutory demands, restraint of advertisement and validation orders); and transactions at undervalue and preferences.

Commercial Litigation: Daisy was instructed on a variety of business, commercial and contractual disputes, including disputes over loans, share purchase agreements and facility agreements; agency and consultancy arrangements; guarantees and indemnities. Daisy was instructed with leading counsel in Kotak v Kotak [2018] EWHC 318 (Ch) in a complex partnership dispute in the High Court involving issues of forgery and breach of duty spanning over a period of around 10 years.

Trusts and Estates Litigation: At the London Bar, Daisy was regularly instructed on a wide range of contentious trusts and probate matters, including claims arising out of lack of testamentary capacity and knowledge and approval; Inheritance Act claims; construction of wills; claims for breach of trust and recovery of trust assets; removal of trustees/personal representatives; applications for Beddoe relief and directions; and professional negligence claims by disappointed beneficiaries under the White v Jones principle.
