Louise Denman is a senior counsel and leads the Regulatory & Risk Advisory team in the Middle East & North Africa region.
She was previously based in the Walkers Cayman Islands office.
Louise advises clients on a wide range of financial services regulatory matters, including licensing and regulatory perimeter advice, major structural reform projects, financial crime prevention (anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and proliferation financing and international sanctions), virtual assets, data protection, changes of control involving multi-jurisdictional transactions, ESG, economic substance, beneficial ownership, CRS and FATCA, corporate governance, cross-border marketing and outsourcing.
She also regularly advises on engagement with the regulators and liaises with them on behalf of clients.

Experience and recent work
Prior to joining Walkers, Louise was a Senior Associate at Allen & Overy LLP in London, where she worked for over eight years post-qualification in the financial services regulatory team, advising a broad range of clients. She has been on secondments to an international bank and an international investment business.
Louise's experience at Allen & Overy included speaking at several client seminars on ESG developments and payment services regulation.
Louise was the lead associate advising on the setting up of a new global payment system and drafting the Rulebook and participation documents. She was also the lead associate on a client matter involving coordinating and reviewing local counsel advice in over 70 jurisdictions regarding the regulation applying to an international virtual asset and investment services provider.
Louise also represented a client in meetings with HM Treasury and the FCA regarding the safeguarding of funds and worked on major structural reform projects for several banks.
