Muriel leads Walkers' global Compliance function, helping the firm navigate regulatory complexity with clarity and confidence.

Muriel has extensive experience helping international law firms meet evolving regulatory expectations while maintaining the confidence of clients, partners and regulators. She works closely with the partnership to refine compliance frameworks so they remain practical, proportionate and effective, strengthening governance, supporting client relationships and enabling sustainable growth.

She believes the most effective compliance functions bring clarity to complexity, build trust and enable people to make confident decisions in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Experience and recent work

Before joining Walkers, Muriel spent 18 years at Ashurst Perkins Coie, where she served as Chief Risk Officer, leading the global Risk & Compliance function. She led enterprise risk management, business transformation and governance initiatives supporting client confidence, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

Prior to Ashurst Perkins Coie, she held litigation support roles at Gibson Dunn and Clifford Chance.
