Pupillage

Wallkers' Bermuda office ("Firm") continues to experience rapid growth in the Bermuda legal market and is pleased to support talented rising professionals, by inviting applications from qualified Bermudians or PRC holders for pupillage contracts. The Firm has developed a comprehensive structured training program ('Programme') in line with the Walkers' global training platform, ensuring that pupils are provided with the highest level of practical, technical and soft skill training in all areas of the Firm's practice. Pupils will undertake the Programme for 12 months; 6 months in the Corporate Finance, Funds & Insurance Department and 6 months in the Insolvency and Dispute Resolution Department.

Pupils will work alongside associates and partners, gaining exposure to Bermuda's most important cases and transactions, and will be formally assigned to a partner or senior counsel of the firm who acts as a mentor and coach for the duration of their Programme. During the Programme, pupils will be provided with a checklist of both technical and general training to complete, guiding their progression and ensuring that upon completion of the Programme, the pupil has gained hands on experience and the necessary skills to undertake a successful career as a member of the Bermuda Bar Association.

Pupillage contracts are offered to qualified Bermudians or PRC holders with consistent outstanding academic achievements, including a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelors of Law or Graduate Diploma in Law degree and at least a Pass grade in either the Professional Practice Course, the Legal Practice Course or the Bar Professional Training Course. Applicants studying for or having completed the Solicitors Qualification Exam can also apply. Note, applicants can apply before completing their respective qualifications, for a Pupillage commencing following completion of such qualifications.
