Practice Areas

Niall joined Walkers' Jersey office in May 2009, where he is an advocate and senior associate in the Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Trust Disputes groups. He regularly appears before the Royal Court of Jersey and has a broad range of commercial litigation experience including cases involving company law issues, breach of contract, employment law, fraud and asset tracing, insolvency, insurance, professional negligence, planning, property, regulatory law and trusts.

Niall worked initially for the Scottish Government’s Civil Recovery Unit, shortly after the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 took effect, when it was winning test cases. He then trained with Scotland’s largest firm, gaining experience in their Corporate and Commercial Property departments, before taking a qualified post in their Commercial Litigation team. Subsequently, Niall practiced litigation and gained employment law experience with a large Channel Islands' firm, before joining Walkers.

In January 2015, Niall was named Junior Lawyer of the Year by the Law Society of Jersey: "while Niall only qualified as Jersey Advocate just over a year ago, he has already made over 100 appearances before the courts and tribunals of the Island, representing clients in a wide range of litigation issues, including criminal defence work, personal injury claims and employment law issues, achieving consistently good results." In 2014, Niall was awarded the Hazel Bailey Memorial prize for achieving the joint top mark in the Jersey Property Law examination.
