Paddy Rath is based in Walkers' Ireland office where he is an Of Counsel in the firm's Finance and Capital Markets team. Paddy's principal practice areas are structured products and capital markets, securitisation, private equity, distressed investment and corporate restructuring. In particular, Paddy advises on Irish and EU legal and regulatory aspects of the establishment, financing, operation and management of Irish special purpose vehicles and other investment vehicles which acquire a broad range of asset classes (including loans, mortgages, receivables, distressed assets and insurance-linked securities) from around the world.Paddy also regularly advises borrowers and lenders in relation to various lending transactions from short-term unsecured loans to multi-currency syndicated loans and revolving facilities. Prior to joining Walkers, Paddy worked in the Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Group of a top five Irish Law firm. During this time Paddy also completed a six-month secondment in the Global Restructuring Group of a large Irish Bank.
