Practice Areas

Jonathan Betts is a partner and head of the corporate and finance practice at Walkers Bermuda*.

Jonathan advises Bermuda-based and international clients on a broad range of corporate matters, focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and banking and finance transactions. He also advises in relation to the formation of investment funds and insurance matters.

 

*Walkers works in exclusive association with Kevin Taylor, trading as 'Walkers Bermuda', a full service commercial law firm providing advice on all aspects of Bermuda law. The title of 'partner' is used to refer to a consultant or employee of Walkers Bermuda with equivalent standing and qualifications to a partner of Walkers.

Prior to joining Taylors and working with Walkers, Jonathan worked in the banking and finance practice of Clifford Chance and SJ Berwin’s private equity group in London. In July 2004, he joined another offshore law firm in Bermuda and has practiced on-island since then.

He has also contributed the Bermuda chapter of multiple Practical Law Company guides and the International Legal Guide to Alternative Investment Funds.

Jonathan is widely recognised as a leading corporate and commercial lawyer in Bermuda and is ranked as such by a number of premier legal publications.
