Greg Cooney is based in Walkers' Ireland office where he is a senior associate in the Insolvency and Dispute Resolution Group. Greg's principal practice areas include financial services disputes and litigation, loan and security enforcement, debt recovery, formal insolvency procedures, landlord and tenant disputes and general commercial litigation.

Greg regularly advises financial institutions and other creditors in relation to strategy, judgment proceedings and the enforcement of security and judgments in the context of non-performing loans. Greg advises on both the prosecution and defence of claims in all fora before the Irish Courts but particularly the commercial list of the High Court (Ireland's fast track court system for business disputes), and via Alternative Dispute Resolution methods such as mediation or arbitration. Greg's financial services litigation practice would also include assisting in the provision of advice to stakeholders in respect of Financial Services Ombudsman complaints, hearings, determinations and appeals and in relation to financial services regulatory prosecutions brought by the Central Bank of Ireland under its administrative sanctions procedure.

Prior to joining Walkers, Greg trained and worked in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group of a top five Irish law firm.
