Christophe Kalinauckas is a Senior Counsel in the firm's Jersey Banking & Finance team, with a particular focus on real estate finance matters, and listing securities on The International Stock Exchange.
Christophe is a Jersey Advocate, Cayman Islands Attorney and English Solicitor, and has over 13 years' experience offshore.
He advises borrowers and lenders in respect of major real estate secured acquisition/development finance and restructuring projects with a client base including many of the leading global banks. He has also seen the firm's market share grow significantly to become one of the leading listings agents with The International Stock Exchange of debt and equity securities, including green bonds and high yield bonds.
Christophe joined Walkers in 2013, spent time on secondment in the Walkers Cayman Islands office and is now based in Jersey.
He also has broad offshore experience including corporate work, trusts work, asset finance, private equity work, joint ventures, advising on several aspects of M&A deals and general non-contentious offshore practice, and is ranked as a Rising Star for both Banking and Finance and Capital Markets by Legal 500.
Prior to joining Walkers in 2013, Christophe worked for over six years for another leading offshore firm in Jersey, where he qualified into the Banking & Finance team at the beginning of the 2008 financial crisis, and worked on restructurings and enforcement matters.
He also joined Walkers' Cayman office in the corporate finance team, before moving to support the Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team focused on the corporate finance aspects of the Saad litigation, one of the largest global fraud cases on record.
