Rob Jackson is a partner in Walkers’ Global Finance and Corporate Groups and advises on a broad range of finance and corporate transactions involving Cayman Islands companies and partnerships. In the finance arena he acts for lenders, borrowers and sponsors on project finance transactions, hedge fund and private equity financings, secured cross-border transactions and financial restructurings. Rob's finance clients include leading international banks and financial institutions, asset management firms and private equity houses as well as leading onshore law firms.In relation to corporate transactions Rob regularly advises major public and private companies on share acquisitions and disposals, joint venture and shareholder arrangements, IPOs and secondary public offerings, corporate note/bond issues and corporate restructurings including statutory mergers, schemes of arrangement and takeovers, across a wide range of industry sectors. He has extensive experience in advising on the formation and structuring of Cayman Islands private equity vehicles and related downstream transactions.Rob heads up the Cayman Islands regulatory team which works with international corporations and banks to establish regulated entities in the Cayman Islands with a special emphasis on the registration of category B licensed banks and the regulatory implications of bank mergers acquisitions and reorganisations. He also leads the finance practise of the Global Latin America Group and is a member of the Steering Committee which drives the firm's strategy in relation to Latin America.
Rob worked for Barclays Bank PLC in various capacities for seven years in which time he achieved Associate Chartered Institute of Banker status. After reading law at Bristol University, Rob qualified as an English Solicitor with Rowe & Maw (now Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw LLP). Having practised as a banking and commercial litigator for over three years, Rob joined the acquisition finance team at Lovells in London (now Hogan Lovells) where he specialised in secured cross-border leveraged finance transactions, hedge fund and private equity financings, and projects work. Rob was admitted as an Attorney at Law in the Cayman Islands and joined Walkers at the end of 2005 where he has continued to act on high value, high profile cross-border transactions.
