Rachel Amos is a regulatory specialist with 25 years' experience in private practice, as the founder of a legal-tech start-up and as in-house counsel to a sovereign wealth fund and general counsel to an international asset manager.
Rachel is a senior counsel leading Walkers' Jersey Regulatory Practice Group with a global regulatory perspective on the full spectrum of financial services activity, including regulatory risk management, corporate governance and horizon scanning.
With experience working in London and Abu Dhabi through the changes in the regulatory environment since the global financial crisis, and also as the founder of a tech start-up, Rachel has direct experience of regulatory practice in difficult economic climates, and on growing and scaling a business in a regulated environment.
Rachel works with colleagues in Walkers' Bermuda, BVI, Cayman, Dublin and Guernsey offices as part of the leading offshore regulatory team, offering clients a unique jurisdictional and professional perspective on the evolving international regulatory and compliance landscape.
Rachel worked in private practice in the London offices of a US and a UK law firm, before moving in-house in 2004. She became the Global General Counsel and Head of Compliance of Pinebridge Investments (which was regulated in 28 jurisdictions) which was sold by AIG as an outcome of the financial crisis, in that role she led an international legal team of more than 100 people.
She moved to Abu Dhabi where she was a senior legal counsel in the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority from 2012 to 2018 building the regulatory function. After leaving ADIA she founded The Senate, a consensus-building platform. Rachel joined Walkers' Jersey team in 2020.
