Juliana Tang is a senior counsel in Walker's Regulatory & Risk Advisory Group in the Cayman Islands. She has over 20 years' experience in financial services regulation and compliance, with more than 10 years working in the insurance industry. She has substantial experience in international financial services regulatory matters, including licensing and regulatory perimeter, sanctions and export controls, financial crime, regulatory approvals and notifications including change of control, regulatory investigations, client money, remuneration disclosure and conflicts of interest, consumer credit, competition law, privacy and data protection.
Prior to joining Walkers, Juliana worked on a consultancy basis advising insurance sector clients in London on regulatory and compliance matters. This included advising a global insurance market service provider on sanctions law and compliance, particularly on M&A and other major transactions. She was also Head of Legal and Compliance for a global loss adjusting company that focusses on large and complex claims in aviation, energy, marine, property, casualty and special risks sectors.
She was also previously a legal advisor in the Commercial and Regulatory Team at Aon, the global insurance and reinsurance intermediary and risk management firm. Juliana gained experience in a variety of teams but became Aon’s dedicated regulatory lawyer advising Aon’s businesses and corporate functions on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters. Juliana also worked at the UK FCA.
Juliana gained her initial regulatory experience in Australia, where she was Senior Advisor, Risk & Advisory Services, Regulation & Compliance at KPMG before moving to the UK in 2009.
