Nic Swartz is a director at Walkers Professional Services in the Cayman Islands where he is the head of the Fiduciary team.

Nic acts as director on several structured finance special purpose vehicles and his experience includes a portfolio of funds, asset finance and structured finance vehicles, including BSL and middle market CLOs, CRE CLOs, TRS vehicles, risk retention financing vehicles, green bond and PACE Issuers, and various bespoke structures. He meets regularly with asset managers, banks, counsel and trustees to help clients navigate the everchanging regulatory environment.

Nic is well-versed in Cayman Islands Companies Law and corporate governance regulations.

Prior Employment Experience

Nic has 15 years' financial services experience in the Cayman Islands comprising both fund administration and fiduciary services. Prior to joining Walkers, he headed up the capital markets team at another global fiduciary and administration services provider and acted as director on a diverse portfolio of structured finance vehicles and funds.

Nic has also worked as a senior manager at a global fund administrator where he led a team specialising in private equity fund administration and served on the boards of various private equity funds.

In addition to his fiduciary experience, Nic’s background as an audit manager at Moore Stephens Cape Town provided experience in various industries including media, retail, property and manufacturing, while performing business valuations, due diligence engagements, group restructures, liquidations and tax consultation.

Chartered Accountant (South Africa)
Bachelor of Accounting Degree, University of Stellenbosch in South Africa
Honours Degree in Accounting, University of South Africa

Nic is a member of the Cayman Islands Directorship Association (CIDA) and the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA). He is also a CIMA registered director.
