Tara Rivers is a senior executive and director at Walkers Professional Services ("WPS").
She provides directorship services to structured and asset finance vehicles, and investment managers. Tara plays a key role in driving commercial initiatives for WPS, bolstering the relationships with business partners and intermediaries both domestically and internationally.
Tara is a lawyer qualified to practice in several jurisdictions by background. She has extensive experience structuring and executing domestic and cross-border structured bond/debt issuances, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, aircraft financing and securitisation transactions.
Tara served as a Cabinet Minister in the Cayman Islands Government for eight years prior to joining WPS, most recently serving as the Minister of Financial Services.

Experience and recent work
Before being appointed a Director at WPS, Tara served as the elected Member of Parliament and a Cabinet Minister in the Cayman Islands Government from 2013-2021. During her tenure as a parliamentarian and minister, Tara regularly engaged with UK, EU, regional and other Commonwealth parliamentarians, and with US Senators and members of the US House of Congress. She often led efforts to engage with the local financial services industry, international policy makers in the US, UK, EU and Asia, and other local and international stakeholders on a number of key financial services matters.
Prior to her political career, Tara practiced as a finance and corporate lawyer at a leading local law firm, and prior to that as a structured finance lawyer in the International Capital Markets – Securitisation Team at Allen & Overy LLP in London.
