Elliot Milton is Of Counsel in Walkers' Asset & Aviation Finance Group in Ireland.

Elliot has many years' experience both in private practice and in-house – prior to joining Walkers he spent seven years with SMBC Aviation Capital where his work spanned a wide variety of aircraft transactions, including sales to Japanese tax investors and international lessors; operating and JOLCO leases to a broad range of airlines around the world. He also oversaw the company's portfolio of managed aircraft, including an aviation equity fund with secured debt.

Elliot advises on the financing and leasing of both fixed wing and rotary aircraft including government-supported financings, secured lending, cross-border and operating leases, the purchase and sales of single aircraft and multi-aircraft portfolios, workouts and restructurings, debt finance and security matters, domestic and cross-border tax-driven leasing, warehouse and ABS financings, pre-delivery financing and sale and lease-back transactions.

Prior Employment Experience

Having worked in Ireland, London, Brussels and Tokyo, Elliot has broad international experience in law and aviation financing.

Prior to SMBC Aviation Capital, he was a Diplomat based at the Irish Embassy in Tokyo.

He qualified in Ireland in 2006 and has practised as a lawyer with Baker & McKenzie, Jones Day and A&L Goodbody before entering the diplomatic service. He speaks Japanese, French, Spanish, Russian and Irish. He is a member of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland.
