Practice Areas

Sian is a senior counsel in Walkers' Regulatory practice in Jersey, specialising in financial services regulation matters.

Sian has experience of working within a national regulator as a senior lawyer, as a knowledge lawyer focused on onshore financial services regulation, and as a Barrister in private practice, as well as working offshore.

She advises on matters relating to AML/CFT obligations, fintech and payments, consumer credit regulation, prudential regulation, and general corporate compliance and governance.

She also advises businesses in Jersey and onshore about their obligations under Jersey's regulatory regime and assists clients with regulatory investigations.

Sian has many years of experience in advising on EU law relating to financial products and services.

Before joining Walkers' Jersey office in 2023, Sian worked as a senior knowledge lawyer for a leading domestic Irish law firm.

Prior to that, she worked as a senior lawyer in the Central Bank of Ireland – the Irish financial services regulator. Between 2008 and 2018, she was a Barrister in private practice in Ireland.

Sian has also been a Programme Director of Law at Griffith College Cork, a Lecturer in Law of Evidence at University College Cork, and chairperson at the Irish Immigrant Support Centre.
