Walkers Employment Team, in association with the States of Guernsey, is delighted to be hosting the fourth event in our Equality Awareness Series: Discrimination: What do Employers need to know?

This session will cover? 

  • How and why might discrimination law change and what we might expect next in Guernsey?
  • What are the current “protected grounds” and how might these be expanded (with practical examples)?
  • What is the likely impact for Employers and individuals acting in breach of the law?
  • What is the likely timeframe for change and why should Employers start preparing for these changes now?
  • How can your policies and procedures meet best practice, whether or not the law changes?
  • What lessons can be learnt from other jurisdictions?
  • What were the key topics/themes which attracted most media debate during the public consultation and how are they relevant for Employers?
