Managing sickness absence is one of the topics we are most frequently asked about. Staff on either long term or recurring short term sick leave can cause businesses real difficulties. 

In this session Victoria Pratt Senior Counsel in Walkers' Guernsey office, Daniel Read Senior Counsel in Walkers' Jersey office, and Jenny Brunton Associate in Walkers' Jersey Office, will focus on the key employment law risks of managing sickness absence, including unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. The strategies employers might take to promote employee wellbeing to proactively manage issues before having to go down a formal route will also be explored.
