Leading international law firm Walkers is pleased to announce that Kate Storey has joined its Guernsey office as a partner in the firm's Investment Funds and Corporate group.

Kate has 18 years of experience as a lawyer in the UK and Guernsey. She specialises in investment fund structuring and finance, equity fundraising and listings, mergers and acquisitions and group reorganisations. Kate is also a prominent Guernsey insurance expert, having advised on the Guernsey legal aspects for most of the pension scheme longevity swaps which have executed in Guernsey, as well as major insurance linked securities transactions.

Kate will be continuing her funds and corporate practices as well as heading up the Guernsey insurance team.

Walkers' Guernsey Managing Partner Louise Hall said:

Kate is a very well-known and highly regarded lawyer both in Guernsey and internationally and we are delighted to have her join our Guernsey finance, corporate and funds department.

Kate brings with her a great deal of experience in a number of specialist areas which complement the existing practice areas of the department. In addition, her recognised expertise in Guernsey insurance law and regulation will also enable us to meet client demands in an area which continues to be incredibly buoyant for Guernsey as an international finance jurisdiction.

Commenting on her appointment Kate Storey added:

"I am delighted to have joined Walkers which I feel has a fantastic reputation across the major offshore jurisdictions as the largest global offshore law firm. It also has a thriving Dublin office, which is a very attractive proposition. It is an exciting time to join, as Walkers is rapidly expanding in the Channel Islands. I look forward to further growing their already successful Investment Funds and Corporate practice in the Channel Islands."
