Walkers' British Virgin Islands ("BVI") office has acted as BVI counsel to Sixth Street Partners LLC, a leading global investment firm, in relation to a US$500 million structured term loan financing facility to Biohaven Pharmaceutical Holding Company Ltd. ("Biohaven"), a BVI incorporated NYSE listed company. The deal closed on 7 August 2020.

Biohaven will use the proceeds for the development, promotion, and commercial launch of the FDA-approved NURTEC™ ODT (rimegepant), used for the acute treatment of migraines, as well as for general corporate purposes of Biohaven and its subsidiaries.

The Walkers' BVI team, instructed by onshore counsel Latham & Watkins, comprised BVI Managing Partner Matthew Cowman, senior counsel Omonike Robinson-Pickering and associates Brittney Smith and Royan George.
