Walkers Advises Apollo Strategic Growth Capital on US$5.3 billion business combination with AmEx Global Business Travel Walkers is pleased to announce it has acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Apollo Strategic Growth Capital in its US$5.3 billion business combination with American Express Global Business Travel ("AmEx GBT"). The combination is expected to create the world’s largest publicly traded managed business travel platform, which plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the new ticker symbol “GBTG”.The AmEx GBT and Apollo Strategic Growth Capital transaction will deliver gross proceeds of up to US$1.2 billion, including an US$335 million private investment in public equity, or PIPE.Walkers acted alongside US counsel Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and was led by Cayman Islands Managing Partner Tim Buckley with assistance from associates James Murrie and Alexandra Chirea.
