Walkers London advised on the high profile restructuring of General Healthcare Group

Walkers London advised on the high profile restructuring of General Healthcare Group, the UK's largest private hospital group, which includes 35 hospitals and debt of circa £1.5billion. This is one of the largest restructuring matters in the European market currently involving a large number of banks, private equity houses and international law firms including Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, Simmons and Simmons, Paul Hastings and Weil Gotshal & Manges.

Walkers played a significant role on the British Virgin Islands aspect of this restructuring, as the private hospitals were held through an OpCo / PropCo structure with the UK assets held directly by 35 BVI holding companies.

The deal was led by Jack Boldarin and John O’Driscoll in Walkers' London team along with Sandie Corbett in Walkers' BVI office.
