Walkers Advises Traxys Group on Majority Interest Sale

Walkers is pleased to advise that it acted as Cayman Islands counsel to the Traxys Group ("Traxys"), a physical metals and minerals commodity merchant, logistics and trading firm, in relation to its sale of a majority interest in Traxys to The Carlyle Group and affiliates of Louis M. Bacon (the founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and principal investment manager of Moore Capital Management, LP) and the increase by Traxys management of their investment in Traxys. The transaction closed on 31 July 2014.
 

The Carlyle Group, Louis Bacon and Traxys management acquired their stakes from Pegasus Capital Advisors, Kelso & Company and Resource Capital Funds. The Walkers team, based in the Cayman Islands, was led by partner Caroline Williams, with assistance from Michael Padarin, partner, Nicholas Pattman, senior counsel, and Nikhil Jha, associate. Walkers worked alongside Debevoise & Plimpton LLP who acted as instructing counsel for Traxys.
