Walkers' Global Aviation Team acts on Airborne Capital's US$303 million ABS: MAST 2022-1

Walkers is pleased to announce that it acted as Cayman Islands and Irish legal counsel to Airborne Capital Limited, and in respect of the overall Transaction, in its US$303.7 million MAST 2022-1 and MAST 2022-1 USA asset-backed securitisations ("ABS"s), through a private placement of notes. The portfolio will comprise of 15 commercial jet aircraft with 10 different lessees based in 9 countries. The Irish legal team was led by partner Killian McSharry with assistance from of counsel Caitlín Friel, associates Róisín O'Connor and Diana Pacheco. The Cayman legal team was led by partner Sarah Humpleby with assistance from associates Hannah Hawkins, Kulraj Badhesha and Alexandra Franklin. Walkers Professional Services, in both Cayman and Ireland, provided fiduciary and cash management services throughout the warehouse phase of the transaction and will continue to provide fiduciary services throughout the life of the ABS. Walkers Professional Services will also act as Managing Agent for the platform. Instructing Walkers in Cayman and Ireland for legal and professional services, including as Managing Agent, was a statement of confidence in our ability to assist with the execution of a transaction of this magnitude, in addition to being able to offer pragmatic advice in a cost effective and commercial manner.
