Strength of Walkers' Trusts and Wealth Structuring Highlighted in Chambers HNW Guide 2018

Walkers' Trusts and Wealth Structuring Group has for the first time been recognised in both the Jersey and Guernsey chapter of the Chambers High Net Worth ("HNW") Guide 2018, reflecting the increasing strength in depth of Walkers' Trusts and Wealth Structuring practice, and complementing the expansion of its Trusts and Wealth Structuring practice globally.

In the guide, an interviewee highlighted Walkers' "excellent service, excellent relationships and broad depth of skills."

"They're very professional and helpful. They are always available, they support us and guide us through transactions," says one source. Another interviewee commented: "They are very responsive and proactive - they're very good. They're one of the most responsive firms I have worked with."

In a rapid elevation from the position in 2017, the HNW Guide of 2018 ranked Jersey Partner, Robert Dobbyn, and Guernsey Partner, Rupert Morris. In addition, Walkers' Trusts and Wealth Structuring group in Jersey leapfrogged competitor firms to be recognised as a Band 2 legal practice.

Having been promoted into the Partnership in July 2018, Robert Dobbyn received outstanding reviews from clients, including that "his willingness to assist is tantamount to brilliant", that "he is great to work with and his technical knowledge is very good indeed," and "I like his documentation and his approach, and his understanding of the problem is very good."

Rupert Morris joined the firm and the partnership in October 2017, and received equally outstanding reviews, with clients' comments ranging from "Rupert is brilliant," to "he has a thorough understanding of this subject, he gives clear and concise advice, and he provides practical solutions". Others praise him as "a thoroughly nice chap" who "offers constructive solutions and is responsive."

Walkers' Channel Islands Head, Fraser Hern, commented "we are very pleased to see due recognition being given to both Robert and Rupert, whose efforts and expertise are now being duly recognised by industry and rewarded by client instructions in equal measure. We are equally pleased to see the practice as a whole start to gain recognition, and expect to see this continue going forward as we expand the scale of the practices in Jersey and Guernsey, and as we look to develop the pre-eminent offshore Trusts and Wealth Structuring practice globally".

The Chambers High Net Worth guide provides commentary on the leading accountants, private banks, wealth managers, fiduciaries and philanthropy advisers globally.
