Walkers Wins at IFLR Middle East Awards

Walkers (Dubai) LLP is delighted to have won an award at the 2021 IFLR Middle East Awards. The IFLR Awards recognise law firms as well as individual private practice and in-house lawyers for their work on a range of different corporate and financial transactions across the MENA region.

Walkers, alongside global law firms Dentons and Allen & Overy, and Bahraini firms Hassan Radhi & Associates and Zu'bi & Partners Attorneys and Legal Consultants, won 'Debt and Equity-Linked Deal of the Year' for their collective work on the Khaleeji Commercial Bank Additional Tier 1 Sukuk.

Walkers acted as Cayman Islands counsel for Khaleeji Commercial Bank BSC on instructions from international law firm, Dentons, in connection with the issue of US$159,151,000 Additional Tier 1 Capital Certificates by a Cayman Islands incorporated issuer SPV called KHCB Tier 1 Sukuk Limited (the "Trustee"). The Walkers team was led by Dubai Partner, Ciaran Bohnacker and Senior Counsel, Terry-Ann Arch with Walkers Fiduciary Limited providing share trustee and directorship services to the Trustee.
