We are deeply saddened to share that our partner, colleague and friend Jonathan (Jonnie) Betts has died following serious illness.
Jonnie was head of our Corporate, Finance, Funds & Insurance group in Bermuda and a hugely popular and highly regarded member of the local and international legal community. Since joining Walkers in 2016, he played a key role in developing our Bermuda office and advising large corporate clients and investment funds. Ranked as a Leading Individual by Legal 500, IFLR1000 and Tier 1, notable practitioner by Chambers, he was recognised as being a "terrific lawyer".
Jonnie was a good friend to all who knew him and will be sorely missed by all of us at Walkers. We will always remember his energy, passion for people and their development and contribution to our business. Our thoughts are with Jonnie's family and friends.
