Advising Stonepeak portfolio company Textainer on acquisition of Seaco

Our Bermuda Corporate team acted as Bermuda counsel to Stonepeak portfolio company Textainer Group Holdings Limited (Textainer) in connection with the agreement by an affiliate of Textainer to acquire Global Sea Containers Limited (Seaco) for a purchase price of $1.75 billion, subject to certain adjustments. 

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals.

Established in 1965, Seaco is a global marine container leasing company, owning, and operating a fleet of more than 2.4 million TEU, with operations across over 360 depots and 23 offices worldwide.

The Walkers team was led by partner Sarah Demerling with assistance from partner Rachel Nightingale and associate Amelia Oatley. The Finance team provided additional support, led by partner Adam Bathgate supported by senior associate Benjamin Green.
