We are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Hurry as a partner in our Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team in Jersey.
Simon joins us in a lateral partner hire from another offshore law firm, bringing over 17 years of experience in high-value commercial and trust litigation, cross-border insolvency, enforcement and asset tracing.
He has appeared before the courts of Jersey and the Cayman Islands at all levels, including the Privy Council, and is widely recognised for his expertise in complex dispute resolution matters.
Simon, who is the first lawyer in the Channel Islands to be recognised as an INSOL Fellow, joins the team led by partner Nigel Sanders. He also joins fellow partners Fraser Hern, Richard Holden, Marc Seddon and James Turnbull.
Nigel said:
“Simon’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to providing clients with market-leading expertise in complex disputes and insolvency matters. His reputation, experience and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our team and to our clients across jurisdictions.”
“We are delighted to welcome Simon to our growing Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team in Jersey. His arrival adds further depth and capability to our partnership bench.”
Simon added:
“I’m delighted to be joining Walkers’ Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team in Jersey. The firm’s reputation for excellence and its collaborative culture made this an easy decision. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”
Before joining us, Simon was a partner in the insolvency and corporate disputes team at another offshore firm in the Cayman Islands, having previously led their Jersey insolvency and corporate disputes team.
Simon's arrival is part of our strategic growth in the Channel Islands and follows the recent recruitment of two other partners – Investment Funds & Corporate specialists Simon Hopwood and Gareth Morgan.
