Tim specialises in advising private equity, venture capital and hedge fund managers on legal issues including forming and structuring all types of investment funds, fund acquisitions and disposals, and fund restructurings.
Tim also provides corporate advice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, secondary transactions and corporate governance.
Tim has extensive knowledge of the investment funds market in Japan, and is a specialist in structuring and forming open and closed-ended unit trust fund structures.
He is part of our Corporate and Investment Funds Group and acts for clients across Asia-Pacific, including Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and Indonesia.

Experience and recent work
Before joining Walkers, Tim worked in the corporate team at Linklaters in Singapore. Here he specialised in cross-border public/private mergers and acquisitions, disposals, private equity, joint ventures and corporate advisory work. During his time at Linklaters, he was seconded to the principal finance team at Standard Chartered Bank for six months. Tim did his professional training in London with Berwin Leighton Paisner (now BCLP), then worked in that firm’s London and Moscow offices before relocating to Singapore.
