Robert has developed particular expertise in contentious corporate governance matters, with a focus on the procedural and strategic aspects of board and shareholder disputes, often involving companies listed on the major stock exchanges. He regularly advises on requisitions, proxy battles, and contested meetings, including adjournment and postponement disputes. His work in this area is informed by direct experience on several of the most significant offshore corporate control contests with an Asia dimension in recent years. Robert is also an active contributor to thought leadership in this area; he has authored articles for publications including International Corporate Rescue and Hong Kong Lawyer.
He has a strong track record in urgent interlocutory applications, including freezing injunctions, the appointment of receivers and enforcement of share security, often in support of proceedings in other jurisdictions. He is experienced in developing and executing sophisticated multi-jurisdictional litigation strategies, working effectively alongside onshore counsel across diverse legal systems.
