Linda Marsh

Linda Marsh is a paralegal in Walkers' Jersey Private Capital & Trusts Practice Group.

She specialises in trusts work, both contentious and non-contentious, and in drafting trust documents.

She also supports the Insolvency and Dispute Resolution Practice Group on major cases, having worked on significant trusts disputes at another offshore law firm.

Linda is a qualified Latvian lawyer, and in previous roles has assisted in both the prosecution and defence of criminal cases in court.

Linda is fluent in Latvian, Russian and English.

Experience and recent work

Prior to joining Walkers in 2020, Linda spent four years at another offshore firm, first as a junior legal assistant and then a legal administrator.

Her roles included the preparation of court documents, legal research, preparation of court bundles and assisting with procedural aspects of case conduct.

She has worked on some of Jersey's biggest recent trusts disputes matters, including Crociani v Crociani and Ors, Dick Stock v GB Trustees and Ors, Trilogy v YT and Others, CMC v Forester and Ors.

Linda was also the sole assistant in the AG v Jalam [2015] JRC169 common assault/indecent assault case acting as prosecutor, as well as several criminal cases.

She has worked for the Government of Jersey within the Customer and Local Services department, advising on GDPR requirements.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Professional Master’s Degree in Law Studies, qualification of Lawyer, Turiba University (Latvia)
  • Professional Bachelor's Degree in Law Sciences, qualification awarded Legal adviser, Turiba University (Latvia)
  • Certificate of Higher Education in Law, University of London (UK)
