Adam Hinks joined Walkers' Singapore office in 2017 and is a partner in the Insolvency and Dispute Resolution Group. Adam advises on British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Bermuda law.

Adam has a broad range of commercial and civil litigation experience, including complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, shareholder and fund disputes, forum and jurisdiction challenges, unfair prejudice proceedings, fraud and asset tracing claims, freezing orders and other forms of interim relief, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.

Adam also has experience in contentious and non-contentious restructuring of companies and partnerships. Adam advises on all forms of formal appointments of insolvency officeholders and advises creditors, debtors, private equity and hedge funds and other advisors with respect to insolvent or distressed situations.

Prior to joining Walkers, Adam worked in the litigation a restructuring department in another leading offshore firm in the British Virgin Islands where he acted as BVI counsel for Barclays Bank PLC (Singapore) in relation to a constructive trust and unlawful means conspiracy claim against a BVI company and high net-worth individual; and was instructed by Hong Kong and PRC entities in relation to unfair prejudice and shareholder disputes.

Before working in the BVI Adam practiced as a solicitor in London where he was instructed by a trustee in a claim for guidance regarding the validity of US$400m transferred into a trust involving issues including fraud, money laundering and Cypriot corporate law. He was also instructed in successfully obtaining a US$425m freezing order and a subsequent preliminary issues hearing on act of state doctrine and issue estoppel before the English Court of Appeal
