Practice Areas

Scott Jones is a senior counsel in the Private Capital & Trusts Group in the Cayman Islands. He deals with a range of structures involving private capital, including the establishment of family offices in the Cayman Islands.

Scott has also worked in the Global Investment Funds Group at Walkers since 2018 and therefore brings institutional experience into the private capital context where he works, in particular, on setting up family investment companies, fund structures and investment vehicles whether stand-alone or within more developed single family office structures. He also works for multi-family offices and supports investment managers who cater to UHNW investors.

In his investment funds practice, Scott advises on a broad range of matters including private equity and hedge fund formation, downstream acquisitions and divestments, exits, end-of-life issues, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations. Scott advises a broad range of clients from start-up managers to some of the world's largest investment firms.

Prior to joining Walkers, Scott worked in the corporate department of Myers, Fletcher and Gordon in Kingston, Jamaica where he advised large corporations including financial institutions and airlines in the mergers and acquisitions space. Whilst at Myers, Fletcher and Gordon, Scott worked closely with a family owned securities dealer and investment bank on the establishment of their venture capital business and its attendant acquisitions.
