Our Cayman Islands office acted as legal counsel to Aria Foundation (the 'Foundation') in connection with the Foundation's role in a token generation event (TGE) and launch of the native token of the Aria Protocol, $ARIAIP.
The Aria Protocol is a decentralized protocol built upon the Story layer 1 blockchain which brings historically illiquid real-world intellectual property assets on chain as fungible tokenized assets with yield-generating potential. Aria Foundation acts as an independent mission-driven foundation to support the growth and development of the Aria Protocol.
Our dedicated Cayman Islands Fintech team for this project was led by partner
Melissa Lim and associates
Olivia Fielding and
Kevin Nelson. Specialist advice was provided by our Cayman Islands Regulatory and Risk Advisory partner
Andrew Howarth and associate
Ollie Digby, with further cross-jurisdictional support from British Virgin Islands partners
Alex Drysdale and
Iona Wright and senior associate
Alfida Cruz.
Melissa shared: 'We’re excited to support Aria Foundation in the launch of $ARIAIP. This milestone shows our commitment to innovation in digital assets and the growing need for ways to bring intellectual property and cultural assets onto the blockchain.'
We acted alongside Fenwick & West LLP who provided US legal counsel to the Foundation.
