We acted as Cayman Islands counsel and professional services provider in connection with LATAM Airlines Group S.A.'s successful US$200 million pre-delivery payment aircraft financing relating to the acquisition of 23 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
The financing was arranged by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, acting as Global Coordinator and Bookrunner, Mandated Lead Arranger, Co-Structuring Agent, Facility Agent and Security Agent, alongside Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group as Co-Structuring Agent and Mandated Lead Arranger.
Supporting LATAM Airlines' ongoing fleet modernisation programme, this transaction represents another important milestone in the airline's continued growth and operational development across the region.
The deal is particularly significant as it reflects our role in supporting LATAM Airlines on key strategic initiatives. We value the opportunity to continue working alongside LATAM's team and trusted advisers, helping the airline execute complex financing transactions that support its long-term growth and fleet development strategy.
Our team was led by Cayman Islands partner
Sarah Humpleby, with assistance from associate
Alexandra Franklin and from Walkers Professional Services,
Gennie Bigord and
Christina Hurlston.
Congratulations to LATAM Airlines Group S.A., Santander CIB, MUFG and everyone involved in bringing this transaction to a successful close. It has been a pleasure assisting with this significant financing.
