Prior to joining Walkers, Tyson was an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP in the Corporate Insurance team in London. Previously, Tyson worked as an insurance associate at RPC and Ince & Co in London.
Tyson's experience includes:
- Acted as deal counsel to a global (re)insurance group and its special purpose reinsurer in connection with a US$150 million catastrophe bond issuance, involving multiple classes of notes under an established ILS programme.
- Acted as deal counsel to a leading international reinsurer on a US$175 million fully collateralised retrocessional catastrophe bond transaction, providing protection against major U.S. catastrophe industry loss events, structured through an Irish special purpose vehicle.
- Acted as deal counsel to an Asia-Pacific based insurer and affiliated reinsurer in connection with a US$45 million issuance of participating notes to support reinsurance coverage.
- Acted for two major insurance groups on a UK Part VII insurance business transfer, involving the court-sanctioned transfer of insurance business between carriers.
- Acted for a large multinational insurer on a complex corporate transaction involving shareholder distributions, new investor participation through a new holding company structure, and the acquisition of an entire group, with an aggregate transaction value of approximately US$6 billion.
- Acted for an international insurance group on a £1.2 billion reinsurance-to-close and loss portfolio transfer, finalising the closure of a Lloyd’s syndicate year of account.
- Acted for a Northern European private equity sponsor on the US$85 million acquisition of an international logistics group.
- Advised an international insurance broking group on a US$79 million acquisition of a financial services intermediary specialising in mortgage broking and wealth management advisory services.
- Advised an international insurance broking group on a £2 million acquisition of a UK insurance brokerage.
- Advised a global insurance distribution group on a £12 million acquisition of a UK insurance and financial solutions brokerage.
