Martin specialises in hedge fund formation and private equity fund formation.
He has extensive experience advising on hedge funds, including those targeting cryptocurrencies, blockchain and other digital assets. He also regularly works with fintech trading platforms on creating proprietary trading structures and has particular experience supporting the launch of tokenised investment funds. His work in this area includes advising on a number of publicly announced tokenised fund launches, including Figure Markets and Streamex.
In addition, Martin acts for leading private equity houses and their external counsel, as well as start up fund managers and institutional asset managers, with a focus on clients operating in or investing into the Latin American region.

Experience and recent work
Martin completed his professional training at Walkers, and started practising as an attorney at law in the Cayman Islands in 2010. He has worked in various jurisdictions for our firm including Singapore and London.

At Walkers, Martin is a member of the Trainee Committee and is responsible for selecting, mentoring and supervising legal scholarship recipients. He also serves on Walkers' Charity Committee.
Martin is also a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands and member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association. In addition, he is a member of the Refugee Protection Appeals Tribunal.
